I’m sure you’ve heard the saying ‘Beauty comes from the inside out’, and it’s true. How you feel on the inside reflects on your outside, but the opposite can also be true. How you feel you look on the outside can impact how you feel on the inside.
Sometimes you just need a bit of pampering to boost your mood and make you feel beautiful. And you don’t have to spend a fortune on beauty products to do it! You’ll likely have all the products you need to make this deliciously pampering Honey Oat & Sugar Scrub in your pantry, so why not give it a try? Take a few moments for yourself to give your skin a treat and show yourself some love and affection – you deserve it.
Be warned: this recipe can get messy! Make sure you’ve got some old towels draped over your shoulders and on hand to mop up any sticky bits that might drip.
Honey Oat Sugar Exfoliating Scrub
Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons of organic, raw honey
- 1 teaspoon of rolled oats
- 1 teaspoon of organic cane or brown sugar
- A wedge of lemon
Method:
Combine all ingredients (except the lemon) in a small bowl and mix until the mixture becomes thick. Squeeze in the lemon juice and add more sugar if you need to thicken the scrub mixture.
Use a small amount to start and massage gently into your skin in small circles. Be careful to avoid your eye area. Relax and let the scrub sit for 3-5 minutes before washing off.
You may like to mouisturize afterwards with your favorite mouisturizer or jojoba oil.
And that’s it! We’d love to hear from you if you try this recipe, and also if you’ve got some DIY home beauty tips of your own! Let us know by connecting with us on facebook, twitter or instagram 🙂

Wow, I’d love to make this to give some of my friends for Christmas! How can you keep the final product? Does it have to be stored in the fridge, or will it be okay under the Christmas tree? Thanks!

Hi Emilie! This recipe probably won’t keep long because of the oats- I’ve only ever made it and used it straight away. If you leave the oats out and just use honey, lemon and sugar then it should last in the fridge for 2-3 weeks. Thanks for your comment!
