We know how difficult it can be at times to get our kids to eat healthy, which is why we have put together our top 5 kid friendly smoothie recipes to get your kids daily intake of fruit and vegetables up! But even though these recipes are child friendly, don’t let that put you off trying them yourself! Delicious for smoothie drinkers of all ages, these recipes are sure to go down a treat at any age and at any time.
Most of the smoothie recipes below have spinach in them, as smoothies are such an easy and effective way to incorporate leafy greens into our own and our children’s diets. Spinach is one of the milder tasting greens which makes it a perfect addition to any smoothie, but you can try chard, kale or any green you prefer.
- ½ cup coconut water (you can use filtered water or almond milk if you don’t have any coconut water)
- 1 cup fresh spinach
- ½ - 1 chopped frozen banana, depending on how sweet you want your smoothie to be

1) Super Simple Green Smoothie
Often kids just don’t want to eat their greens! Which is why blending them up into a delicious smoothie is a great way to get their daily intake up.
Serves 1.
Ingredients:
½ cup coconut water (you can use filtered water or almond milk if you don’t have any coconut water)

½ – 1 chopped frozen banana, depending on how sweet you want your smoothie to be

Ingredients:

½ cup coconut water (you can use filtered water if you don’t have any coconut water)
½ – 1 chopped frozen banana
1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
Blend all ingredients together in your blender and serve immediately. Yum!
3) Peanut Butter Banana Dream Smoothie
What kid doesn’t love peanut butter? Provided your children don’t have any nut allergies, this smoothie will be a hit every time.
Serves 1.
Ingredients:
1 cup milk of your choice (coconut, almond, cow or soy all taste great)
½ chopped and frozen banana
½ tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon all natural peanut butter (be sure it has no added sugar!)
Place all ingredients in a high speed blender and process until smooth. Serve immediately and enjoy!
4) Chocolate Thickshake Smoothie
This delicious thick, creamy and chocolatey smoothie will make your kids think they are getting a treat but in fact they are just drinking a deliciously healthy snack!
Serves 1.
Ingredients:
1 cup fresh spinach
1 cup coconut water (you can use filtered water if you don’t have any coconut water)
½ chopped frozen banana
½ cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
¼ cup cacao powder
3 tablespoons maple syrup
Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender and process until smooth. Yum!
5) Berries and Banana Green Smoothie
This smoothie is delicious and packed full of vitamin C, potassium and antioxidants. A great way to get more nutrients into your kids diet!
Serves 1.
Ingredients:
1 cup fresh spinach
1 cup coconut water (you can use filtered water if you don’t have any coconut water)
½ cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)
½ cup frozen blueberries
½ chopped and frozen banana
½ an orange
Place all ingredients in a high speed blender and process until smooth. Serve immediately.
